Greg Martinez

Director of Community Innovations, Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership

Mr. Greg Martinez is the Director of Community Innovations at the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership (Partnership). In his role, Mr. Martinez works to alleviate Cook County’s unemployment issues through policy, innovative programming, and strategic partnerships with other regional stakeholders.

Some of his accomplishments include overseeing the successful implementation of a Department of Justice funded Regional Reentry Council. A collaboration between the President’s Office of Cook County, Mayor’s Office, Illinois Department of Corrections, Sherriff’s Office, and other reentry stake holders to develop a series of recommendations and create a more coordinated reentry system. Overseeing the creation of one of the first trauma informed workforce development toolkits in the country, providing workforce agencies the practical tools to delivering trauma informed care services. Prior to working at the Partnership, Mr. Martinez spent seven years working in various capacities at a community-based organization where Mr. Martinez’s work focused on working with gang-affiliated and court-involved youth populations. He served as a case manager, street outreach specialist, and eventually Senior Manager of Special Initiatives.
