Diana Xitlaly Lopez

Diana Xitlaly Lopez, the proud daughter of Mexican immigrant parents from Zacatecas, is committed to reducing educational disparities and advancing equity across Chicago for underserved youth and families of color. As a first generation woman of color, she brings multicultural awareness, ethical appreciation, and gender sensitivity to her leadership. Diana has committed her professional life ensuring youth and families have the tools necessary to navigate their academic and vocational path successfully and authentically. More importantly, she aims to instill a sense of belonging with a developed understanding of community voice, youth engagement,and social emotional learning.

Diana is a proud Chicago Public School graduate who vowed to return back to work at her local highschool. In 2015 after receiving her M.A. in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago School of Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, she joined the John Hancock College Preparatory Highschool family as the Youth Guidance Resource Coordinator. Over the past 7 years, Diana has increased student extra-curricular programs from 5 programs to 42, tripled parent engagement, and oversees a variety of school-wide community events.

In her free time Diana enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and horseback riding.
