Ariana Correra

Ariana Correa currently serves as the Policy Manager for the Justice, Equity, and Opportunity (JEO) Initiative within the Office of Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, where she advises the Lieutenant Governor on policy that fulfills the Pritzker-Stratton Administration’s vision of reimagining public safety and equity for the State of Illinois.

Among other duties, Ariana serves as a key liaison to the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority to administer the Restore, Reinvest, and Renew (R3) Program Board, and was entrusted to serve on the Illinois Immigrant Impact Task Force, Charitable Trust Stabilization Board, and the Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee as a designee of Lieutenant Governor Stratton.

In 2023, Ariana was appointed to serve on the City of Chicago’s Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability’s (CCPSA) Non-Citizen Advisory Council. Ariana assists in supporting the work of the Commission by providing relevant perspectives that tie together the experiences of immigrants, non-citizens, and new Chicagoans to policing. Her passion to serve on the Non-Citizen Advisory Council is fueled by growing up in a mixed-status household and understanding the fear of losing your loved one(s) to an encounter with law enforcement. Assisting in the improvement of programs and services that promote resilient communities has been at the forefront of Ariana’s work and curiosity.

During the pandemic, Ariana started engaging with the Chicago Community Trust’s Young Leaders Fund to become familiar with philanthropic grant funding and technical assistance. In 2022, she began serving as the Young Leaders Fund’s Community and Economic Development Working Group Co-Chair and as a member of Nuestro Futuro’s Steering Committee. Through her service with the Chicago Community Trust’s Affinity Funds, she mobilized members to improve the quality of life for Black and Brown neighborhoods throughout the Chicago region.

Prior to serving the state and communities that opened their arms to her family, Ariana graduated from Lane Technical College Preparatory and attended the City Colleges of Chicago, where she graduated with the first cohort of Star Scholars. She later transitioned to the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs and obtained her B.A. in Public Policy.
