Gilberto Ruiz

Gilberto Ruiz is the son of immigrants from Mexico and a dedicated public servant. He was born in Chicago and grew up in Northwest Indiana just outside of the city.

As a licensed attorney, he has focused on real estate, civil litigation, and trust and estates, before switching gears to create change through legislative and policy work at the Illinois Senate Democrats and the Illinois Governor’s Office.

Currently, Mr. Ruiz serves as the Legislative Coordinator at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University Northwest and a juris doctorate degree from Northern Illinois University. When he is not working Gilberto enjoys spending time with his family and golfing.
