Juan Carlos Solis

First generation Latino raised in Little Village and Gage Park to Mexican immigrant parents. His mother has worked for Northern Trust Bank for over 25 years and his father is a Chicago Police officer for 29 years.

Juan Carlos is the first grandchild of 8 on his mother’s side. He is the 30th grandchild on his father’s side. Juan Carlos was raised in a very tightly bonded and supportive Mexican family community that lives throughout Chicago’s southwest side, of which many members of his family are city workers.

7 years of engineering experience in designing airport improvement programs, being the inspector of materials and quality of highway rehabilitation, residential gas pipeline installation and restoration, the installation and rehabilitation of private drains, and sewer lining installation. Juan Carlos has 7 years of working with all levels of operations and management, communicating with the City of Chicago, the Illinois Department of Transportation, contractors, sub-contractors, laborers, foreman, operators and all relevant parties necessary to completing a construction project on time and on budget.
