Liza Pereira
As the founder and now President and CEO of Unique Sweets, Inc., Liza has successfully overseen the growth of the organization from a home-based business to a now-growing not for profit organization. She is leading the young organization through strategic and operational management while promoting inclusive practices in community outreach programs for Autistic adults and individuals with special needs. Her prior experience includes pivotal roles such as Accreditation Operations Manager at the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and Director of Operations at New Moms Inc., where she streamlined processes and managed technology initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency.
Liza's journey began when she migrated to the U.S. from Puerto Rico at the age of 20. Her personal experiences have instilled in her a profound understanding of the challenges that many Latinos face when adapting to life in a new country. This perspective informs her work as she compassionately supports others navigating similar transitions and difficulties, especially families impacted by Autism and other disabilities. Liza's sensitivity and empathy shine through her commitment to serving this population, making her an advocate for inclusivity and empowerment.
Liza holds a Master’s in Non-Profit Management from North Park University and several certifications, including Project Management from DePaul University. Her educational background, coupled with her diverse professional experiences, equips her with a unique perspective for understanding and addressing organizational needs across cultures. Liza is known for her strategic thinking, and ability to engage effectively with diverse groups, making her an asset to any organization.
