Jose Sanchez Molina

Deputy Press Secretary, Office of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker

Jose I. Sanchez Molina currently serves as Deputy Press Secretary at the Office of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker. He is a public relations and communications professional specializing in public policy, community organizing and government affairs.

Prior to serving as Deputy Press Secretary, Jose worked as Director of Communications for the Office of Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton. He also served as Deputy Chief Communications Officer at the Office of City Clerk Anna Valencia and Policy Analyst at the Better Government Association. Jose also worked as Campaign Director at Voices of Youth in Chicago Education and began his career as a Public Policy Fellow at the Greenlining Institute, a public policy, research, and advocacy non-profit organization based in the Bay Area.

Jose is a DACA recipient and was born in Puebla, Puebla, Mexico, immigrating to Chicago at the age of four. He is a proud product of public education, an alum of Chicago Public Schools’ Walter Payton College Prep and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Jose is driven by a commitment to equity and to create opportunities for communities that have been unjustly underserved.
