George Mata

George Mata is the CEO of Matacorp Development LLC, a real estate business based in Chicago committed to the renovation and re-leasing of properties around the city. He is a loving family man, married to his wife Mara, and father to his daughter Lana and son George Mason. A life-long native of Chicago, George has resided in neighborhoods from Norwood Park to Hermosa, and he devotes his time to meeting the neighbors and learning about the many different communities that share Chicago as a home. George enjoys any opportunity to improve his city, whether it be through means of property development or by helping individuals learn valuable life skills through employment with Matacorp Development.

George’s propensity for construction and development started in his youth. His childhood dream is and continues to be to plan, develop, and construct high-rise buildings. He was a Foreman of Ironworkers Local 1 for seven years before most recently joining and becoming a Foreman of Pipefitters Local 597 in 2012.  These experience have afforded George a subject-matter expertise in both structural and mechanical development. 

Developing Chicago’s North Lawndale for the past 7 years, George takes satisfaction in having provided nine units of safe, comfortable homes to members of the community. He wishes to continue to grow Matacorp Development’s capacity to improve Chicago’s homes and therefore the lives of its neighbors.
