Luis Cedeño-Gallard

Luis embarked on his professional journey as a research assistant and junior analyst, gaining valuable experience both within his university and at the Public Policy National Lab. He then took the role of Advisor at the Mexican Secretary of Interior (SEGOB).

In 2017, he also participated as a delegate in the Conference on the Status of Women (CSW) of the United Nations. Luis holds a B.A. degree in Political Science and International Relations. Recently, he obtained a certification in US Political Institutions from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Policy.

Over the past four years, Luis has been a liaison in the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago, serving the Mexican and Mexican-American communities in Illinois and the North of Indiana. Beyond his primary outreach responsibilities with activists, organizations, and indigenous groups, he has advocated for the political engagement of the Mexicans in the region. Luis was also part of the consular response to the pandemic and the organization of events and dialogues about issues like racial equity and opioid abuse among Latino communities.

Luis enjoys maps, databases, and Star Wars. He is a fervent follower of political processes worldwide, especially in the US and Mexico.
