Gustavo Brizuela

An experienced Technologist and product of Chicago Public Schools, Gustavo Brizuela is currently serving as the Director of Safety Technology for CPS. Merging his passion for technology and experience in public safety, Gustavo leads a team of individuals who oversee operations and develop strategies to improve physical security at schools across the city.

Gustavo’s biggest focus is ensuring resources are dispersed in an equitable manner, allowing underrepresented communities access to key technologies that aid in creating a safe school environment.

Gustavo is a lifelong resident of Chicago’s East Side community, where he currently resides with his wife Melanie, a CPS Teacher, newborn son Samuel and 4-year-old dog, Buehrle. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Management from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Gustavo is an avid baseball fan. When he is not playing or coaching baseball, he loves to enjoy a White Sox game.
