Francisco Martinez

Francisco Martinez is a proud Chicagoan, having been born and raised in the Southwest side of the city, to a family originally from Michoacan, Mexico.

During his upbringing he knew that many of his family members and even friends at schools faced obstacles as they did not have proper status to reside or work in this country. He always thought about the courage that it took people to leave their home to give their families a better life, and he knew he had to help. Francisco volunteered and even worked on a few nonprofits that specialized in helping immigrants and refugees, helping fill out application for Legal Permanent Residents, DACA applications, Food Stamps and Medicaid applications, as well as help people walk through Mexican consulate how to obtain their original documents for immigrants who arrived without an ID or a passport.

After many years of being, he looked to help in other ways, getting people that cared about our families and friends. He became an organizer for a gubernatorial campaign and has been working on electoral politics. His work has led him to work on several municipal and aldermanic races, congressional, and even statewide campaigns. Francisco currently works as the Organizing Director for the Senate Democratic Caucus, helping get Democratic Senators elected, fighting off challenges and other candidates.
